Nicaragua – Las Marias is a natural process lot from coffee grower Don Teo’s farm in a remote yet thriving village in Jalapa, Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua.
When Don Teo first started growing coffee in this area there were no roads. As a ‘young and not-so-experienced' farmer, he did not have transportation or resources, so he walked more than two hours from his house to the farm every day. He recalled having to transport the stones, tools, and other necessary equipment by donkey or horse.
At his current farm, some of the coffee varieties now include Caturra, Catuai, Marsellesa, Parainema, Catimor and Maragogype. Don Teo said, “I have learnt that producing a lot is good, but that producing quality is better, both go hand in hand. You have to produce a product that makes you wake up every day and feel proud."
Nicaragua – Las Marias has nuances of plum, jasmine and nectarine.
